CID IG Safin Ahmed Passes Away After Battling Prolonged Illness
Bhubaneswar: Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Safin Ahmed, who was serving in the Odisha cadre, passed away after battling cancer. His death has left the Odisha Police fraternity deeply saddened.
Ahmed, who hailed from Kerala, joined the Indian Police Service in 2003 and was allotted the Odisha cadre. During his long and distinguished career, he served in several important positions and earned a reputation as a dedicated and committed police officer.
At the time of his death, Safin Ahmed was serving as the Inspector General (IG) of the Crime Branch-CID of Odisha Police. He was involved in handling important responsibilities related to criminal investigations and police administration.
Colleagues and members of the police fraternity expressed grief over his demise and remembered him for his professional commitment, sincerity and service to the state.
His passing is considered a significant loss to the Odisha Police, particularly to the senior leadership and officers who had worked closely with him during his career.
