Young Social Worker Anand Prasad Sahu Turns Public Grievances into a Mission of Service

Phiringia,  : While many highly educated young people aspire to comfortable careers and personal success, Anand Prasad Sahu of Phiringia in Kandhamal district has chosen a different path—working tirelessly for the rights and welfare of ordinary people.

Despite his busy schedule, Sahu has been actively helping people raise their grievances before the administration and access government welfare schemes. His efforts have gradually developed into a significant public-service initiative, earning appreciation from people in the region.

Sahu has so far submitted more than 3,000 complaints through the government’s public grievance (Janashunani) portal, with over 2,000 cases reportedly resolved. He regularly follows up with government offices and senior administrative officials through phone calls, messages and other means to ensure that genuine public grievances receive attention.

His work particularly focuses on people who are deprived of government benefits and essential services. He has reportedly assisted villagers with issues involving damaged rural roads, ration cards for economically vulnerable families, pensions for widows and destitute persons, housing assistance and electricity connections.

Sahu as a young man deeply committed to social service. He has continued his public welfare activities despite his professional and personal responsibilities. His efforts have also extended beyond administrative grievances, with his contribution in times of emergency and humanitarian need being highlighted.

Sahu is also associated with blood donation and encourages others to participate in such humanitarian activities. His commitment to helping people in distress has made him an example for other young people who wish to contribute to society.

The son of senior journalist Mahadev Sahu, Anand Prasad Sahu is now being recognised for turning the process of filing public complaints into a sustained campaign for social welfare.

His continued efforts demonstrate how individual initiative, persistence and a strong sense of social responsibility can help ordinary citizens access government services and secure their legitimate rights.
