Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi Expresses Condolences Over Redhakhol Road Accident

Redhakhol August 16, 2026: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep grief over the tragic road accident reported from Kansar area under Jujumura block in Sambalpur district.

According to reports, the accident occurred on Saturday when a passenger bus collided with a truck while attempting to overtake. One person died at the accident spot, while 12 passengers sustained injuries in the crash. The injured were admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla, where they are undergoing treatment.

Chief Minister Majhi conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the eternal peace of those who lost their lives in the tragic incident.

The Chief Minister also wished a speedy recovery for all the injured passengers. He directed the district administration and concerned authorities to ensure that the injured receive immediate and proper medical treatment.

The accident has once again raised concerns over road safety, particularly during overtaking manoeuvres on busy highways.
