ROURKELA: A political controversy has erupted in Rourkela over the Panposh Circuit House, with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) demanding answers from the administration over a room allegedly booked for more than 20 days in the name of an unidentified person.

An AAP delegation met Sub-Collector Chandrakant Mallik and Superintendent of Police Nitesh Wadhwani and sought clarification regarding who had booked the room and under whose name it was reserved for such an extended period.

AAP Questions Police Action

The AAP delegation alleged that although police have already arrested seven persons in connection with the criminal activities, the alleged key person who provided shelter or protection to them at the Panposh Circuit House has neither been arrested nor publicly identified.

The party questioned why the police have not disclosed the identity of the person allegedly connected with the incident and demanded a transparent investigation into the entire episode.

Questions Raised Over Circuit House Booking

According to the AAP, the alleged booking of a Circuit House room for more than 20 days has raised serious questions about how the premises were accessed and who facilitated the stay.

The delegation demanded that authorities investigate the booking records, identify the person responsible for arranging the accommodation and determine whether any influential individual helped the accused persons obtain shelter at the government facility.

AAP Targets BJP Over Jual Oram’s Response

The political controversy intensified after Union Minister Jual Oram reportedly avoided responding to questions from the media regarding the issue.

Based on this, AAP leaders alleged that the BJP was shielding the person they claim is behind the incident. However, these are political allegations made by AAP and would require verification by the investigating authorities.

The AAP delegation demanded the immediate arrest of anyone found to be directly or indirectly involved with the accused persons and called for strict action against those responsible for facilitating their stay.

Demand for Peace and Transparent Investigation

The AAP leaders also appealed to the authorities to take decisive action to restore peace and public confidence in Rourkela. They said that the identity of the person allegedly responsible for providing shelter to the accused should be established through a fair and transparent investigation.

The delegation included AAP Lok Sabha in-charge Binay Tiwari, Youth President Nitish Kumar, Ajmer Khan, Ramesh Satapathy, Amlan Pal and Swadhin Pramukh.

The controversy has put the spotlight on the management and security arrangements at the Panposh Circuit House, while the demand for disclosure of the booking details and identification of the alleged key person has added a new political dimension to the case.
