Electricity Wire Theft Gang Busted in Redhakhol; 12 Arrested, Truck and Wires Worth ₹1.5 Lakh Seized

Redhakhol, August 22: Redhakhol Police have achieved a major breakthrough in a case involving the theft of electricity wires, arresting 12 persons allegedly involved in the crime and recovering stolen electrical wires along with a mini truck and other equipment.

According to the report, the accused were allegedly involved in stealing electricity wires in different areas under Redhakhol Police limits. Acting on information and following an investigation, police managed to identify and apprehend the suspects.

12 Arrested in Electricity Wire Theft Case

Police reportedly arrested 12 persons in connection with the electricity wire theft case. During the investigation, the accused allegedly revealed details about their involvement in the theft and transportation of the stolen materials.

Police recovered a substantial quantity of stolen electricity wire, along with equipment allegedly used during the theft operation.

Truck and Other Equipment Seized

As part of the operation, police seized a mini truck allegedly used to transport the stolen electrical wires. Police also recovered cable cutters and other materials from the accused.

The total value of the seized electrical wire and other materials has been estimated at around ₹1.5 lakh, according to the report.

The seizure of the vehicle and equipment is expected to help investigators establish the exact modus operandi of the alleged theft network.

Investigation Continues

Police are continuing their investigation to determine whether the arrested persons were involved in other electricity wire theft cases in and around the Redhakhol area.

Investigators are also examining whether the accused had links with other persons involved in the collection, transportation and disposal of stolen electrical wires.

The police action has brought relief to local residents and raised hopes of curbing incidents of electricity infrastructure theft in the region.

Further investigation is underway, and police are expected to produce the arrested persons before the appropriate court as per legal procedure.
