Sambalpur Crime: 36-Year-Old Butcher Shot Dead in Burla, Suspect Detained
Sambalpur, August 29: A 36-year-old meat shop owner was shot dead by unidentified assailants at Kirba Chhak in Burla, Sambalpur, on Friday night, according to a report.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Anish. He reportedly sustained three bullet injuries in the attack and died following the shooting.
Anish had earlier operated a meat shop at PC Bridge. According to information reported by local sources, he was also involved in land-related transactions.
Police have detained a person in connection with the incident. The suspect has been identified as Raja Swami, a resident of the Mangalbazar area of Jharsuguda, according to police.
Preliminary information suggests that personal enmity may have been behind the killing. Police are also examining whether a dispute related to Anish’s business or other financial dealings had any connection with the incident.
The Sambalpur Municipal Corporation had reportedly demolished Anish’s meat shop a few days before the shooting.
