Village Road Turns Into a Muddy Mess During Monsoon
Residents of Barahachhapal Suffer Severe Hardship; Demand Immediate Repair and Concrete Road

BANAI, : Residents of Barahachhapal village under Pithachore Gram Panchayat in Bonai block are facing severe hardship due to the deplorable condition of the village’s main road. The road, which remains muddy and waterlogged during the rainy season, has made daily commuting extremely difficult for villagers.
The main road of the village has remained an unpaved earthen road for a long time. With the onset of the monsoon, its condition has deteriorated further, with stretches of the road turning into deep mud. As a result, villagers are finding it increasingly difficult to travel to and from the village.
The poor condition of the road has particularly affected students, women, elderly people and other residents, who depend on the road for their daily transportation. The situation becomes even more serious during emergencies, as transporting patients to hospitals or other healthcare facilities becomes a major challenge.
According to the villagers, they have repeatedly raised the issue during Gram Sabha meetings of Pithachore Gram Panchayat. They have also submitted written complaints to the Panchayat Executive Officer, Block Development Officer (BDO) and Sub-Collector, requesting immediate action. However, despite repeated appeals, the problem remains unresolved.
Villagers said that even a small spell of rain leaves the road in such a poor condition that normal movement becomes extremely difficult. They expressed disappointment over the continued inaction and urged the administration to take immediate steps to address the problem.
The villagers have demanded that the road be repaired without further delay and that, for a permanent solution, the existing earthen road be converted into a concrete road.
Senior citizen along with youths have urged the local administration to take immediate action.
The villagers hope that the concerned authorities will intervene at the earliest and provide a safe, all-weather road to ensure smooth transportation and relief from their long-standing difficulties.
