Subhadra Yojana Big Update: Eligible Women May Receive ₹25,000 in Five Instalments on August 28

Bhubaneswar, August 17, 2026 : The Odisha government has announced a major update regarding the Subhadra Yojana, with eligible women who were left out of earlier instalments expected to receive financial assistance on **August 28**, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan.

According to Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida , eligible beneficiaries who had missed previous payments could receive  five instalments together, amounting to ₹25,000 . The state-level Subhadra programme is scheduled to be held in Nayagarh on August 28.

The government aims to provide Subhadra assistance to **more than one crore women**. Beneficiaries whose applications are completed and found eligible by August 28 are expected to receive the payment directly into their bank accounts.

₹20,600 Crore Already Disbursed

According to the Deputy Chief Minister, the Odisha government has already transferred around₹20,600 crore under the Subhadra scheme through four instalments. Around 1.02 crore women** received the fourth instalment.

The government is now preparing to transfer the **fifth instalment on August 28** to eligible women. Administrative verification and field-level inquiries were undertaken to ensure that eligible beneficiaries are not excluded from the scheme.

 What Is Subhadra Yojana ?

Subhadra Yojana is one of the Odisha government’s major women-empowerment programmes. Under the scheme, eligible women receive a total financial assistance of  ₹50,000 over five years , paid in two instalments of ₹5,000 each year.

Women between 21 and 60 years of age, subject to the scheme’s eligibility criteria, can benefit from the programme.
