Rourkela, August 24: The investigation into the Rourkela Circuit House arms seizure case has taken a significant turn, with police reportedly intensifying efforts to question and apprehend BJP functionary Prakash Paswan, whose alleged role in arranging accommodation for persons later arrested with firearms has come under scrutiny.

According to a source , Rourkela Police held a closed-door meeting to discuss steps for taking Prakash Paswan into custody. The development indicates that investigators are examining his alleged connection with the people who stayed at the Circuit House and were subsequently arrested in the arms case.

Prakash Paswan’s Role Under Investigation

Paswan, a BJP functionary from Rourkela, has been under the spotlight since police arrested seven persons in connection with the recovery of firearms and ammunition from the Circuit House. Earlier reports stated that rooms at the Panposh Circuit House had been booked for persons who were later arrested.

The BJP subsequently suspended Paswan, citing indiscipline, misconduct and violation of party discipline.
