Odisha Vigilance Raids Six Locations in ₹3 Crore Alleged Misappropriation Case

Jagatsinghpur, August 24, 2026: The Odisha Vigilance has launched simultaneous raids at six locations in connection with an alleged government fund misappropriation case involving Bhanja Kishore Behera, a former SRA (Special Revenue Assistant) of Tirtol Block who is currently working as an SRA at Naugaon Tehsil in Jagatsinghpur district.

According to the report, Behera has been arrested in connection with Cuttack Vigilance Police Station Case No. 30/2026, registered under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018. He is accused of misappropriating government funds amounting to more than ₹3 crore.

Following his arrest, Vigilance teams began simultaneous searches at six locations to investigate the alleged financial irregularities and examine documents relating to his assets and properties.

Six Locations Under Vigilance Search

The raids are being conducted at the following locations:

  • A nearly 7,000-square-foot, two-storey residential building at Patenigaon under Raghunathpur Police Station in Jagatsinghpur district.
  • A nearly 4,000-square-foot tent house at Patenigaon.
  • Another nearly 3,000-square-foot, two-storey building at Patenigaon.
  • Behera’s office at the Naugaon Tehsil office in Jagatsinghpur district.
  • His former workplace at the Tirtol BDO office.
  • The house of one of his relatives at Sankorkora village under Raghunathpur Police Station.

Documents and Property Records Being Examined

Vigilance officials are examining financial records, property-related documents and other materials to establish the details of the alleged government fund misappropriation. The searches are also expected to help investigators determine the extent of Behera’s assets and whether they are linked to the alleged financial irregularities.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected after the Vigilance teams complete their searches and scrutiny of the documents.
